Probably. Shipping alcohol and glass is usually a problem. You can bring it back in your luggage when you return though.

It's dangerous to ship glass bottle. But we can buy canned sake in Japan. So it's better to ship canned ones.

You would have to check with the Canadian authorities about that. Be sure and send a good one though!!

the canadian border services agency site says... "Determine whether or not the goods you want to import are subject to restrictions or other requirements. For example: Alcohol products: Check with the authority in your province or territory (i.e., liquor board or commission) for restrictions." http://sbinfocanada.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zu=http%3A//www.cbsa.gc.ca/sme-pme/i-guide-eng.html shipping alcohol shouldn't be too big a problem it's shipped all over the world somehow.

why don`t you tell your friend to just go to the liquor store and buy a bottle of sake, like a normal person.

To the people who suggest just going to the liquor store, the sake available outside Japan is usually not of the best quality. Simple.
