That depends. Socially, if you're not Japanese and you go somewhere like Shizuoka, it might be difficult. Places that are more conservative won't accept you as easily.
2 :
I think $100,000 is enough amount for 4 years. So you don't have to worry about money so much.
3 :
hokaido is very rural country area depending on the location. the area is "slower" than that of tokyo or osaka so the cost of living is cheaper. 100000CD should be enough. however if you want to travel around japan it may costs more.
4 :
The money should be more than enough. More important question is, how well is your Japanese? Are you fluent enough to set everything up yourself? Do you have your student visa? Prepared to live in a very foreign environment?
5 :
First of all Welcome to Hokkaido. It is true living costs are a lot cheaper up here than in Tokyo or Osaka although Sapporo(I am assuming you will be based in Sapporo) is a city of about 2 million it has a very rural feel to it and gaijins(foreigners) actually living up here are somewhat rare. A good place to learn Japanese. In regards to living costs what you have budgeted should be more than enough to live fairly comfortably and should have spare to be able to do some travel around the rest of Japan while you are here. To give you an idea of some monthly costs for rent I pay 50000 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment just out of the city center.(about 15min bike ride from the main station) about 5000 in Gas 3000 in power and 5000 in water and waste 3000 for telephone. 10000 a week generally covers food and transport although I use my bike alot in summer. Pretty much in total 100000 a month should cover everything In winter it is somewhat more expensive for heating and also transport. Happy Planning and welcome to the rural heartland of Japan.

I want to move there too!!! ^_^ Well the reason why I want to move there is because I want to try something new, you know new culture, and I can become a whole different person because no one knows me. And hopefully a great job opportunity. And yes I know its hard for a non-japanese person but I also like the challenge so... maybe this might help...

Well for one thing I would mention how recycle-friendly Japan is - majority of the trash cans you see in public are recycling bins (for PET bottles, glass bins, newspaper, etc.). It can be difficult to throw something away but I really liked that when I was over there a few years ago. Also people are very polite to strangers (especially if you look like you are not Japanese and don't speak a lot of Japanese). I've also never received bad customer service anywhere in Japan either. The public in general is a little more peaceful, I find - what I mean is for example tons of people leave their bicycles unattended without locks yet nobody steals them. You can be a minor and buy alcohol (which you can buy at convenience stores, supermarkets) because underage drinking is not much of a problem as it is in (North) America. You can also buy fireworks which are all legal at 7-11, etc. Public transportation is also very clean. Various vending machines are also highly convenient - besides drinks, there's cigarettes, and more these days. That's what I can think of for now besides Japanese FOOD! =9

You would like to live there, but you dont know why? Is it because you think Japan is like the anime you watch? It isnt.
4 :
It is the safest developed country in the world. Trains that run on time and are clean and huge. Food that is the best and healthiest ni the world. Some of the most beautiful girls in the world......everywhere!, festivals year round, loads of national holidays, 24 hour restaurants, bars, kareoke boxes and convenience stores, great architecture, mad mix of culture ie, tradition in Nara and ultra modern Shinjuku, Shibuya, Volcanic baths that you can sit in all over the country, Mt Fuji (a stunning sight, esp from the top!), great, clean sea with tons of fish to spear (if thats your kinda thing), nice beaches, loads of places to visit, really friendly people once you move out the cities (like anywhere), great camping, hiking and rock climbing. Basically you get the best of both worlds, modern and natural. Oh and finally Okinawa, a beautiful island to the South that is hot nearly all year round. That should give you some ideas.
5 :
If you love sushi, sumo, cherry blossoms and japanese gadgets, then Japan is the place. It is clean with very beautiful scenery too. But frankly,Japan is an expensive country. Things are pretty costly and people are always rushing around especially in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka.
6 :
have many high tech gadgets (akihabara) one of the best apple in the world planted in japan (aomori ken) world leading transportation (shinkansen)

What Visa should I apply for if I want to live in Japan

What Visa should I apply for if I want to live in Japan?
I don't know much about visas and they are confusing to me. I want got Temple University and live in Japan also. But I want to continue living there even after school. What visa should I apply for?

Visa.

The bad news is, you may not be allowed to. It all depends if you can fit in one of the categories of Japanese visa. For example, I've been living here in Japan with a work visa for a long time, During that period, if I stopped working in the line of work my visa covered, I would have had to either change visa, or, after a short time, to leave Japan. A permanent visa would allow you to stay here without work or study justifications, but the conditions to get one are difficult, and include a long time of continuous stay in Japan under other visa. The guidelines to apply for a permanent visa is 10 consecutive years in Japan, so don't be in too much of a hurry; time is shortened to 5 years if you marry a Japanese national. A work visa would allow you to work in Japan in the line of work it applies to. Not every line of work is covered, it is supposed to be for skilled workers that can benefit Japan. A student visa will allow you to stay for the duration of a specific program. If you marry a Japanese national, you can apply for a spouse visa. You have to take a serious look at what visa may apply to you, and also how you plan to live in Japan. How will you support yourself? What type of work would you do? Work visa apply only to some categories of work, so you need to check if what you want to do will be covered. You will also need to actually find an employment before applying for a work visa (you would find you job either from abroad or while covered by another visa, like tourist or student). I suggest you begin by checking the web site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan, I added the link to it. Good luck!

you want japanese wife, can you afford such
2 :
If you want to settle in Japan one thing you'll need is lots and lots of money.
3 :
I say that thank you for you is because you like Japan. You will have the marriage if you can work in Japan, and life is possible. One problem is Japanese. When you speak Japanese because a foreign inferiority complex is strong because Japan is an island, the Japanese feels relieved. The Japanese is very important to look for work. When Japanese is possible, the lover will be made early. When you are handsome, it is earlier. Japan is in bad times in now, and the next problem is that there is not a lot of work. Because the politics is unstable, the unemployment rate is high. I hope that you have a lot of skills. I suggest that you observe Japan if possible.
4 :
First you'll get the job in Japan. But is it possible? If yes,you may live in Japan.Perhaps to get japanese wife is easy. Now japanese economy is not good. Can you work at a chinese company in Japan? To get a job is the most problem.
5 :
First you need to know Japan Immigration policy. You must get visa. http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html Then you need to know that in Japan Japanese language is the only language Japanese speak in every day life. So for the purpose of working in Japan, you need to read and write Japanese in addition to speaking and listening. Anyway, some foreigners become Japanese nationality. You have the chance.
6 :
I am from america and I live in Japan. It is possible. I speak a little Japanese, but i can not read or write at all. You do not really need to speak japanese to live. I mean, you can come here and work for 3 months, which is a tourist visa, and then leave the country and come back. Most clubs will hire you like that. But if you get married, then you can stay here. But if u divorce you will have to leave. But if you have kids with a japanese then you will be able to stay here forever.
7 :
Get a wife from Japan then you'll be able to live in Japan, but Japanese women are getting stronger than its men haha
